Abstract:
An updated review of the knowledge of fish diversity in the municipality of Merida, Yucatan based on records collected in the literature, review of collection data (online databases) and sampling. The results indicate that the diversity of fish in the municipality It is composed of nine species, of which six are endemic to the Peninsula of Yucatan and four are located in some risk category according to NOM-059-SEMARNAT- 2010. An annotated list of species is included and the cases of the cenote are highlighted Xlaká (Dzibichaltún) and the cenotes of the Cuxtal Ecological Reserve. This work represents a baseline for the development of future research to contribute to a shot of wise decisions that promote the conservation of the cenotes in an integral way.
